Nokia Sold to Microsoft

Nokia one of the major manufaturer of mobile phones and a comany to have approximately about 40% of the total maket sales of the phone worldwide.

Nokia was founded as a wood-pulp mill in south-western Finland by Fredrik Idestam. Idestam team up with co-founder of the company Leo Mechelin in 1871 and gave the name NOKIA to their joint venture. The name Nokia come from the river named Nokianvirta where the paper mill was established.

Recently this company is being overtaken by the Microsoft which has spent more than $7 billion dollar to purchase Nokia’s devices and services.

The company has shut down its various manufacturing plants in Finland, Mexico, and Hungary. Nokia has officially confirmed to close its plants as it shifts production to Asia, as they wanted to shift their manufacturing unit closer to the markets so that they could provide their products more quickly, can introduce innovations into the market easily and can the more competitive.
Lots of people are going to be affected by company’s this decision as about 4,000 jobs would be affected.

Microsoft spent about $7.2billion for Nokia assets. The $5billion dollar is spending for the Nokia device and services, the brand name Lumia and for Microsoft to use its previously existing mobile phones.
The remaining money is for the 10 year license for Nokia extensive patent portfolio, Microsoft gets the right to use the Nokia’s name in connection with feature phones for 10 years.

According to the deal Nokia can’t use its brand name to sell mobile phones for the period of 30 months, therefore Nokia could re-enter in market in the calendar of 2016.

Nokia employs 88,000 people, and 32,000 will become Microsoft employees once the deal is complete, including 4,700 currently located in Finland. The current CEO of nokia Stephen Elop will join back his former company Microsoft.

Nokia still exists in the market but not as mobile phone makers
The company has these three main businesses as of now:
  • Network infrastructure: Nokia has a healthy network infrastructure business after buying out Siemens share in Nokia Siemens Networks earlier this year.
  • Here Maps: Nokia will retain its mapping and location services businesses. That means Here Maps will not be a Microsoft product and Nokia will remain free to work on integrating navigation to various system
  • Technology development: Nokia will continue to develop technologies that it will patent and sell/license to others.

There will be no new “Nokia” in the market anymore
According to the deal Microsoft can’t use the brand name to launch any new phone in the market for 30 months while it can use the Nokia name for the existing phones for 10 years

With entire control over all the units after the deal now the Microsoft can fully devote itself to promote its platform and we could see some awesome phones coming with the name of Microsoft in the coming future running on the windows platform.

Let’s see what changes Microsoft comes with in mobile markets.

SAMSUNG introducing multitasking: samsung galaxy note 10.1

The advantage of the Computers over phone's and tablets is that in Computer you can be doing tasks at one time and keeping the track of all of them at the same time. One might using facebook in one tab, gmail in other, or doing some editing on photoshop or anthing thing else that one is interested in.

All these are not possible in phone's or tablets as don't have that large screens or the tasks may be running in the background but you can't track them.
So to overcome this restriction Samsung introduces its new multitasking feature with its tab called Samsung GALAXY NOTE 10.1....the device goes on sale this Thursday at the price of $550....

With this multitasking feature one can open more than one applications on the same screen like if one is using facebook and youtube the screen will split into two parts and you could be working with both of the applications.
Samsung Electronics is supplementing Multi-Window with a feature called Pen Window. With it, simply draw a box on the screen with the included stylus, and choose one of seven apps to open in a new window. Do it again and again until you open all seven apps, if you wish. For now, Pen Window on the tablet works with YouTube, the calculator, the alarm clock, your contacts list, the Web browser and two chat apps....

Must have tools and utilities

With millions of apps there in Google and Apple app store most of us find it difficult to find which app is usefull and not really a spam. But with all these apps there is seemingly no limit or boundry to what one can do his or her phone.

>You got apps that controls downloading progressing on your computer from the other coner of the world.
>Apps that keeps your kids from messing up your phone everytime give your phone to them.
>Apps to save your precious battery...that is the problem with every smartphone user
>Apps to test whether the phone actually is worth its specifications printed on it.

So here we suggest some must have apps for your phone:

1.Prey Anti-Theft

It is a security app which silently sends sms to predefined number on SIM change. There is also a password so that the thief can't uninstall it.
In IOS version the app capture the picture from front camera and send it to the predefined email when ever the screen unlock is tried wrong more than five times.
With this app you can also locate your phone by simply login with a user iD and password on internet and pinpoint your phone.

Cost:Free

2.u Torrent Remote

uTorrent is a very popular app for downloading torrents. With this app you can contol the activity of the the uTorrent running on your PC. You can check the progess of torrents, add new torrents, pause them.
Unfortunately there is no such app for IOS users.

Cost:Free

3.Clean file Manager

It is a pretty good, simple interface file management app for android. It does the basic task manager duties like renaming, cut, copy, paste etc.The best part of it is the app's interface, cleanly laid icons and text.
There is the menu to the left from which one can go to shortcuts like pictures, movies, camera roll etc.

Get All Your Movies and TV Shows Sitting in PC’S, On Ipad and Tablet

Here is the way to get media library from your PC to your tablet/Ipad without actually transferring the files. At least not anymore.

If you have a meticulously arranged collection of movies and TV shows sitting on multiple hard drives, connected to the PC. The question now arises as how to get all of them on your tablet without transferring that whole huge amount of data actually…..So here is solution for Android  and iPad…..

The Plex application bundle……Plex is a media centre application that will aggregate the media in the folder you point it towards.

SETUP PLEX
Plex has two components

SERVER  APP: need to be install on the pc containing all the media that you wish to share on the portable devices.
Once you have installed the app on PC you’ll need to point the server to the folder which contains the media files. The app is capable of updating the change in the content of the folder.
This application is free to download for Windows, Mac and Linux operating system.

CLIENT APP : it is need to be install on your tablets and iPad and can be download from apple and android markets. Even you can get in on windows phone also.

This app is basically meant to access the library and view content, and within that, you get the decent amount of tweaks and settings for pictures and sound quality.

Plex media server can send media to devices running plex client. Both machine need to be connected to the same network. Once you have the server app up and running on the same network, open the client on and device and within few second the library being broadcast by the server will appear on the device.

We have tested the app on both iOS and Android and it is very good. It was able to stream a 1080p video file over wireless network without any stutters...So give it a try,...make it use full

Stream audio to your android via Wi-Fi

Imagine you've install a great home theatre with a large HD display and you want to watch a movie at night without disturbings others you will have to use headphones with long wire... And what if you have a friend..... you will need a pair of earphones with a hardware that can split a single output so to use more than one earphone.

What if you could do all this for free with your android phone???....

All you need is a PC, SEVER SOFTWARE, AND AN ANDROID APP CALLED SOUNDWIRE

SoundWire is a simple app which routes all audio from your PC to android device via local wireless network.

Now we comes to how to setup all this:
First you have to setup a server which is very simple.

#Go http://georgielabs.net from your PC and download the server based on your operating system (window, linux, apple or any other) and install it.

# Open the application it will look as shown below
Server window will show your IP address, the status and number of devices connected.
If you are using any DVD player or external media player you can choose from the list else it can be left as "Default Multimedia Device".

# Now on your phone simple to go the play store and install SoundWire ( the only difference between the paid and free version is that the former allows multiple users to connect to the same server at the same time)

# Once the app is installed all you have to do is enter the IP address of the server (pc) and hit the large SOUNDWIRE icon.

You might get issues with audio delay and the audio and video might not be in sync...... To resolve that we suggest to set the audio bit rate to low number.......

Enjoy make it usefull..!!

HOW TO BOOST YOUR ANDROID PHONES

Here we come up with some easy tips and tricks to achieve the best battery and performance out of your android device.

DELETE UNUSED PRE-LOADED APPS:
If you pick any device from any one sony, nokia, Samsung, moto,LG all of them comes with a bunch of pre loaded apps and often we don’t use that much and stay as it is. Some of these apps stay active in the background and consume your memory. So it’s better uninstall all these pre loaded apps and skin from the path:
Settings>Device>Apps

UPDATE ON REGULAR BASIS:
It is advise to all the users that you must update your phone on regular basis as the apps we as using somehow have the bugs which the company tries to remove each time with the update. So for a good performance one should update the device regularlily.

FEWER WIDGETS:
One of the best features of android device is that you can customize your home screen with the widgets and live screen wallpapers. The downside to this is that they consume a lot of battery .You would do a lot better if you have fewer widgets and a normal wallpaper.
Widgets and live wallpapers consume not only the battery but the memory of your android device as well. Switching them off means that the device will become smoother.

TRANSFER APPS TO SD CARD:
It is recommended to move all the apps installed on phone memory to transfer it to SD card to provide the space to the device internal system.

BACKGROUND DATA AND CONNECTIVITY OPTIONS:
In android it is very easy to sync your contracts, apps and other information between devices.Unfortunately  the background sync will help you save battery life of the smartphone. It is easy to sync your device with simple click.
on android smartphone we have bunch of  connectivity options like 3G, Wi-fi, Bluetooth and GPS.Sure all  these connectivity options are great but you dont use them all the time, so all these options can be switched off while your are not really using these functions like switch off wifi when you  leave wifi zone, switch to 2G from 3G when your phone is ideal, switch off GPS and location services after you have checked-in or finish using google maps, setting the brightness to auto will help you save the battery  but it is better if you manually control the brightness and set it to as low as possible.

CLEARING MOMERY:
If you have a smartphone that has low ram, you will notice quite a bit of lag, especially if you multitask heavily. There are a bunch of apps on play store such as Clean Master, Memory Cleaner, History eraser and more. These apps help you clear the cache and also help free memory being consumed by apps in the background at any given point of time.

MONITORING APPS:
Apps like Elixire 2, System Tuner, Android Assistant, Greenify and many more... Help you not only to improve the battery life of smartphone but also help in enhancing the performance by managing the apps and memory usage of the device.
@@Make it usefull....
